Coffee & Content - The Structure and Pacing of Heat & Composing Movement W/ Akira Kurosawa

Happy Sunday, everyone. Hope you're all having a cool, creative weekend.

First up for Coffee & Content this week, an analysis of one of the greatest cat & mouse films ever made, Heat. What makes Heat such an epic film? Well, truthfully, there are many factors, but at the top of the list is the structure and pacing. This is a meticulously crafted film and our first video takes a look at how writer/director, Michael Mann, got the job done in spades.

Next up, a look at how legendary director, Akira Kurosawa, used movement in his shots as a means of telling his stories. As always, Every Frame a Painting does a fantastic job in breaking down Kurosawa's genius.

I hope you enjoy the content, but also ask that you share this blog with those who can benefit. It costs nothing and I'll be damned if it doesn't feel great too.

Feel free to discuss or comment on any of the content below as well.

Cheers!
