Now matter how you plan on spending this Sunday, it never hurts to start off with some really informative content and a great 'cuppa Joe to spark the creativity and get you rolling on your current (or soon to be) project. So let's start this edition of Coffee & Content with a closer look at two thrilling feature films, Gillian Flynn's GONE GIRL and Jordan Peele's GET OUT.

From our friends at Lessons from the Screenplay, we take a look at Gillian Flynn's, GONE GIRL, a script that uses uses classic screenwriting techniques to tell a modern noir story. In this short, but informative video, Gone Girl - Don't Underestimate the Screenwriter, offers writing tips that encourages screenwriters to break the mold, if even just a little bit.

From there, we take an abrupt left into the world of modern horror. When we go to see a horror film, the common tropes are so ingrained in us as a viewer that we typically go into a theatre already expecting to experience them. And while this is true of GET OUT, Peele takes his film up a notch by using the specifics of a protagonist to unlock new storytelling techniques.
