Coffee & Content: How 'Sin City' Revolutionized Visual Effects

Coffee & Content: How 'Sin City' Revolutionized Visual Effects

Happy Sunday, Creative Army!
Have you had a creative weekend so far? I have some content here for you that is sure to get the creative juices flowing, so grab your coffee, and let's dive in.
First up, in this video from Nerstalgic, we're taking a look at visual effects from a different angle. It's pretty commonplace today for big studio films to be filmed largely on a soundstage with almost nothing but actors and green screens (or blue screens). The film SIN CITY is almost 20 years old, but it's still completely different from the visual effects were used to seeing on the big screen. This video dives into what makes them so unique and how they were crafted. And hopefully, it'll push you to consider how you can try something new and inventive visually with your projects.
Next, Pod Save America's Jon Favreau interviews WGA negotiator Adam Conover in this video. I often warn that there's a lot of misinformation on the internet. This is a great interview with one of the few people who has been in the room when the negotiations are happening, making it a great source. That said, he is also one person and there are fine lines between facts, the statements of the WGA, and an individual's opinion. So as you're watching this in-depth conversation, challenge yourself to discern where those lines are.
