Coffee & Content: How to Light a Film Studio & 9 Cuts Every Video Editor Should Know

Happy Sunday Creative Army!

Have you had a creative 4th of July weekend so far? Before you head out on your holiday adventures, I have some content to help you get your creative juices flowing, so grab your coffee and let's dive in.

First up, the folks over at Aputure have put together a great video about how to light a film studio. Now that things are opening back up, this is a great refresher to help you prep for getting back on set. Specifically, this video shows you how to do a commercial lighting set up and/or a music video look using Nova lights.

Next up, Shutterstock Tutorials lays out the 9 cuts every video editor should know. Editing plays a vital role in storytelling, and the way in which an editor assembles the footage tells the audience how to interpret the story. This video covers jump cuts, J-cuts, L-cuts, cutting on action, cross-cutting, and more.

As always here at Stage 32, we love to share stories and knowledge with our fellow film fans. Know someone who would love this content? Share it with them! Tag them below!
