Coffee & Content: Overcoming & Learning from Failure in the Entertainment Industry

Happy Sunday Creative Army!
First of all, congratulations to all of you who have already participated in our monthly Introduce Your Fail Weekend! This is an exciting spin on our monthly Introduce Yourself Weekend that takes place the third weekend of every month in the Introduce Yourself Lounge. Thousands of people from all over the world have shared their entertainment industry fails/rejections/fears and it has been wildly inspiring.
Stage 32 is a safe and supportive space built to help our members celebrate, and learn from, their fears and failures - and this weekend, the Stage 32 community has truly outdone itself. If you haven't joined in, there is still time to connect with others and introduce your fail in the Introduce Yourself Lounge.
Everyone's posts this weekend have inspired me to share some content from some amazing Stage 32 members/executives about dealing with rejection/failure in your entertainment industry career. You will hear from:
- Long time Stage 32 member & producer Bradley Gallo (WILD MOUNTAIN THYME, GREEN HORNET AND KATO, THE CALL) and his unconventional path to success
- Screenwriter Meg LeFauve (Pixar's INSIDE OUT and THE GOOD DINOSAUR, CAPTAIN MARVEL) and how she handles negative feedback/notes on scripts
- Producer and Talent Manager Brian Dobbins (BLACK-ISH, GROWN-ISH, MIXED-ISH) and how he wakes up for "no"
- Literary Manager Jake Wagner (negotiated the largest spec sale of the last 10 years, with SNOW WHITE AND THE HUNTSMAN which sold for over $3MM to Universal Pictures) and how to handle getting "passes" on scripts
- Producer and Development Executive Tiffany Boyle (CHICK FIGHT) talks about dealing with rejection daily
No matter where you live, what role you play in the industry, or what level of your career you are at, you are sure to get motivated and inspired by these videos.
As always here at Stage 32, we love to share stories and knowledge with our fellow film fans. Know someone who would love this content? Share it with them! Tag them below!
