First up, in this interview with Film Courage, Writer, Director, & Producer Tendayi Nyeke is sharing her 3 techniques for pitching effectively. Tendayi's multi-genre creative work has been awarded internationally. She’s a former broadcast executive who helmed several award-winning shows and has written, produced and directed television programs across global platforms. Most recently, she Executive Produced the Annie Award-winning Disney+ science fiction Anthology Kizazi Moto (2023) with Oscar-winning director Peter Ramsey of Spiderverse acclaim. In this video, she’s talking about the importance of knowing your “why”, the relationship between a creator and their audience, the importance of knowing and understanding your audience, and the essential keys to remember when pitching your projects.
Pitching is an essential and unavoidable part of the creative process in entertainment. You want to be as prepared as possible to pitch your project and pitch it well! Or even be prepared to pitch yourself and why you’re the best person for the opportunity presented to you. The two most important questions to ask yourself before pitching your project: Why are you the right person to write this project, and why will this project resonate with an audience today?
