Coffee & Content: Strategies Artists Can Use To Increase Their Success
Coffee & Content: Strategies Artists Can Use To Increase Their Success
Happy Sunday, Creative Army!
Have you had a creative weekend so far? I have some content here for you that is sure to get the creative juices flowing, so grab your coffee, and let's dive in.
First up, whether you're a filmmaker, screenwriter, graphic designer, or another creative, you know how important it is to have a strategy for you career. Sure, you could just make whatever you're in the mood to create, but without knowing where you want to go and having a plan together, there's a chance you won't make the gains in your career that you'd hoped. In this video from Film Courage, filmmaker and entrepreneur Khoe Le gives examples of how he was able to strategically position himself for his first feature film gig, even though he didn't have the "qualifications" needed on paper for the job.
Next, we're digging into the evolution of cinema over the past several decades in this video from Thomas Flight and asking the question why do movies feel so different now? It's a conversation that goes beyond the technical aspects and equipment of filmmaking, and looks at the questions filmmakers, writers, and other creatives ask themselves as they're putting together a story. Film and television haven't just changed visually, but have evolved with their creators' and audiences' bigger life questions and concerns. This video does a fantastic job of showing how that happened and how you can consider this evolution and your place in it in your own work.
