Coffee & Content: Take Control of Your Acting Career By Being Your Own CEO

Happy Sunday, Creative Army!

I've got my coffee in hand and your weekly dose of content coming in hot - grab your coffee of choice, and let's dive right in.

Today, we're digging into acting. There are so many processes and theories on acting, but the job is about more than what you do on set. It's about finding opportunities, preparing, networking, and delivering.

First, we're learning from one of the GOATS, Christian Bale, as he looks back at his most notable roles in a video from GQ. Few performers get a chance to take on the wide-ranging roles that Bale has, and this video shows how he earns it. Bale puts in the work and is prepared, no matter what the expectations and opinions are from those around him. That mindset is likely a massive piece of his staying power and resilience in this industry.

Next up, one of our Stage 32 community members, Grace Yee, tells us how she took control of her career and produced a short film she penned, teaming up with fellow Stage 32 members Diane Foster and Micah Coate. The project went on to win awards and was screened at the Raindance Film Festival and the Oscar-qualifying HollyShorts Film Festival.

Lastly, the hosts of the Speak L.A. podcast talk about everything acting, including an entrepreneurial mindset to get ahead in this industry, a topic I'm very passionate about. They talk with experts CastingAbout so that you can use the time when you're not working to create opportunities for yourself, so you are just as resilient and busy as Christian Bale and our other favorite actors.

As always here at Stage 32, we love to share stories and knowledge with our fellow film fans. Know someone who would love this content? Share it with them! Tag them below!
