Coffee & Content: The Rise and Fall of Michael Corleone & How a TV Show Gets Made

Happy Sunday Creative Army!

Have you had a creative weekend so far? I have some content here for you that is sure to get the creative juices flowing, so grab your coffee and let's dive in.

First up, one month ago I featured the first of a 4-part series from StudioBinder about the four classic movie endings: Sweet, Semi-Sweet, Bitter-Sweet, or Bitter. The first video broke down "sweet" endings, and now, they are diving into the "bitter" ending. In this video, they use The Godfather, one of my all time favorite movies, to illustrate the bitter ending. Along with examples from other films, this video breaks down a character's arc based on wants vs. needs, and how these elements play into how the movie ends.

Next up, Vox has put together a video essay explaining how a TV show gets made. This video gives you a quick look inside the process from pre-production to post. While there are variables depending on the final home for a show (streamer vs. cable) the general process remains the same. In this video, they use a 45 minute drama to illustrate the process, how many people are involved, and how long it takes to make one episode of TV.
