Coffee & Content: The Spielberg Look

Happy Sunday, Creative Army!

Have you had a creative weekend so far? I have some content here for you that is sure to get the creative juices flowing, so grab your coffee, and let's dive in.

We're looking at two classic and well-known filmmaking styles this week. Spielberg and Lumet. First up, in this video from StudioBinder, you get a breakdown of what makes Spielberg's work so visually recognizable - which comes down to cinematographer, Janusz Kaminski. This video gets into the lighting, color, and equipment that come together to create the visual impact that so many of us love.

Next, in this video from CinemaStix, you'll analyze a scene from Sidney Lumet's MURDER ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS. The video does show the differences between the decades-old film and Kenneth Branagh's adaptation from a few years ago. However, it's the showing of how Lumet was able to create intimacy, intrigue, and a cinematic experience in a single location that brings the fantastic lessons we can carry with us in our own projects.

As always, here at Stage 32, we love to share stories and knowledge with our fellow film fans. Know someone who would love this content? Share it with them! Tag them below!
