Coffee & Content: When You Hire Stunt Guys To Direct

Happy Sunday, Creative Army!

Have you had a creative weekend so far? I have some content here for you that is sure to get the creative juices flowing, so grab your coffee, and let's dive in.

First up, we have a fantastic video from CinemaStix looking at how the John Wick franchise was able to get made while being made by "no names." Now, were Chad Stahelski and David Leitch really no-name creators? Absolutely not. These were two stunt performers who pushed back against the idea that as performers, they weren't storytellers and wouldn't be able to make a great movie. Now, do we all have access to Keanu Reeves? No. But years of networking could get you in the room with someone like that. And years of growing your skills can get you to a place where when you are in the room you're able to make an impression.

Next up, in this video from This Guy Edits, you'll learn how even a seemingly simple idea for a found footage film can actually be a much more complex task in the editing room. As you go behind the scenes of Missing (the psuedo-sequel to Searching), you'll see an inside look at the editing process of a major studio film, learning tips and tricks that you can apply to your own process. And for more editing tools, be sure to check out this webinar from award-winning editor and storyteller Won Novalis.
