On behalf of the Centro de Portugal Film Commission, I am honored and excited to share the news of our partnership with Stage 32 Certification. As someone dedicated to fostering talent and building professional pathways in Portugal’s emerging film landscape, I know firsthand how significant this collaboration is for developing the creative community here.
Stage 32 Certification is so much more than a digital credential; it is an industry-changing resource, equipping Portuguese filmmakers and crew with globally respected, directly applicable skills needed for real jobs on set. The recent interactions between our local talent and the Stage 32 team, including our recent webinar with Stage 32’s David Zannoni and Sam Sokolow, have offered in-depth, practical guidance on international standards, career strategies, and the realities of production, all tailored to the hopes, challenges, and culture of the Portuguese industry. Our writers, artists, and technicians felt seen, heard, and empowered by the thoughtful, region-specific approach, which made this partnership feel authentically invested in Portugal’s film future.
By unlocking access to Stage 32 Certification, the Centro de Portugal Film Commission is helping break down historic barriers to top industry training, offering a route not just to tell our stories, but to do so with world-class professionalism and creative confidence. The connections, mentorship, and network that Stage 32 brings are already sparking fresh ambitions and actionable plans among Portuguese filmmakers and craftspeople.

What has been filmed in Centro de Portugal?
Centro de Portugal’s breathtaking scenery and historical towns have made it a prime filming destination for several notable films and TV series. The region’s atmospheric landscapes and heritage sites are prominently displayed in the HBO hit series “House of the Dragon,” which used the iconic village of Monsanto as the location for Dragonstone, the ancestral home of House Targaryen, Dansel, Dom Quixote or Fast and Furious X.
